Battery draining

Have a couple of queations here. First; my battery drains down while sitting over night. I can unhook battery cable and the battery stay charge weeks at a time. Second; I rewired the system using the H diagram except I didn't use the warning light. I put a new ampmeter on, wired the lights ect. Everything seems to run right except I have to swap the wire on the meter, shows discharge while running with a reading of plus 30. Is this to much? If so what do I do to fix? After running I can kill tractor then restart with plenty of power. The draining problem happened before and after I rewired and the tractor is a Farmall 200.
