It is possible that it may not be either a head or head gasket problem. Although I would do the same thing as you are doing at this point.
I had a 560 diesel a few years back and it had the same problem you are describing, I had the head gone over and reinstalled it with a new head gasket. Did the same thing again. Turns out that one of the sleeves was cracked. Discovered this after removing the injectors one by one and blowing compressed air into each cylinder. When I did this with #3 cylinder, the radiator would bubble. It takes two people to do this test. Hope its not this. Good luck.
