this would be a lower gear ratio in 1st only.If I remember right, the countershaft 1st gear is machined as part of the countershaft for the low 1st and is a seperate part and pressed on the countershaft in a regular trans. I think I would change out all three shafts, countershaft, main and reverse idler from another trans. Hope this is some help to you. Good luck
