This could be a loooong posting so here it goes. I have my own rule as to buying friends and neighbors stuff...Dont buy it. If a problem comes up later then hard feelings may result. $3800 seems steep, but it does look nice and I have no idea what a good condition 49 Chevy goes for. Hey I will sell you my 1992 F-150 for $2,000 It has 101,000 miles on it. So you see you can get a much newer truck for less money and parts are very available...all over the place. I have an instuctor from college 15 years ago who bought his neighbors 1979 olds toronado and it turned out to have bad engine bearings or something and he ended up selling it for nothing to a mechanic at a garage. I think my instuctor paid about $1500 for it, not to bad he used it for a year or so. My 2 cents. Let us know what you did.
