Sorry for this being a non tractor question.I trust the opinons I get here. My neighbor offered out of the blue to sell me his 49 Chevy truck. He still drives a few times a month so I know it runs. It seems very straight body wise and interior. Some of the glass is cracked. Has a 235 cu inch V8 and is still 6 volt with 3 speed on the column and still has the origonal radio in it.He said it needs some brake and maybe clutch work. He said just to make any offer it needs to go. I don't have a clue what is a fair offer for the old truck. The second time I talked to him he said he would like $3,800 out of it, which is a little steep for me right here at Christmas time. What would be a fair offer with out offending this nice older gent? Thank you , and sorry again for not being tractor related. But hey Farmall red might look good on the old girl!

The Fordson F Ignition System - by Anthony West. A fellow restorer contacted me earlier this year asking for some help and advice on a model F that he was restoring. He had over a period of months spent a fair amount of his hard earned cash on replacement parts for the old "trembler" ignition. Sadly though all his efforts seemed to be a waste of time and money as he still couldn''t get the temperamental old thing to run correctly!! If i said that this was a little frustrating for him that would be "conservative" in fact the problem had reduce
