Hey Paul - That photo brings back memories! My first vehicle was a '51 Chevy PU - purchased for $100 in 1966. I drove it for a couple years until I went off to college - wish I still had it now! The Chevy PU is a simple, reliable machine - not much more complicated than a lettered Farmall tractor. It's easy to work on; parts are still readily available and cheap. It's not terribly fast; 50 - 55mph is about the limit. Brakes are marginal - especially if carrying a load. The original motor will be a 216 pushrod 6. However a 235-6 will swap directly in - perhaps that's what's in there now?? The 6 volt Delco electrics suffer the same weaknesses as on Farmalls. However if you keep everything in good shape, have a good battery and don't drive too much with the lights on the original electrics will serve fine. Even though the truck looks to be in exceptional original shape, price seems a bit steep to me. (However I don't follow the old truck market so I'm not a good one to judge.) Also I agree with Kurt's comments about buying from friends/neighbors. Thanks for sharing the photo!! ...Bob M

If i said that this was a little frustrating for him that would be "conservative" in fact the problem had reduce
