Is there a trick to dropping the oil pan on a Farmall A? I wanted to take the oil pan off to clean out the sludge I suspect is there. After purchasing a new gasket, I went home, drained the oil, and started removing the oil pan bolts. The bolt in the front posed a slight problem, as it won't clear a bolt in the front axle directly underneath it. I'm sure it is backed out all the way, so I figured on just sliding the oil pan a little sideways to remove it. I removed all the other bolts, and broke the seal on the front and sides, but the back of the oil pan won't budge. I didn't want to force it in case there was a clip or some kind of retainer holding it in place. Can anyone tell me if this is the case, or is the lip of the oil pan just jammed in tight against the bell housing? I'd be grateful if someone can tell me the answer. Thanks!
