The original switch and wiring has the rear light on bright in both the D and B switch settings. Only the front headlights get dimmed on D. The dimmer coil gets pretty hot (though not red) even with two stock headlamps on dim. Can't figure why the factory provided a dim setting on the light switch. On bright the stock headlights are marginal at best...
