Something is wrong in your switchover linkage I suspect. Manifold has butterflys to direct air through the carb when in gas mode. They may not be working correctly and are stuck in diesel mode. Also, carb float locks up in diesel mode to stop gas flow to carb. However you say the carb is getting gas, so doubt that would be the problem. Carb may need cleaning. Some of the passages may be clogged.
