Thanks to all for the response. Today I had to go to the Case dealer to get some parts and I asked the guy there about installing the pulley. He said that they used to have two people install the pulley. One would hold a 6lbs sledge on the backside of the crank at the first point (where the throw is for cylinder #1) this was to take up the pounding and to help absorb the shock. The other person would pound the pulley on with a tool they made and another slegde. The tool that they made was a piece of rod that had been rounded on the end (nothing complicated). He said they didn't heat the pulley, but I personally think it wouldn't hurt. Anyway, thought I would share this with you all, and hope it helps more people in the future after it hits the archieves. Brian.
