966 Hard to get in High Range

My 966 Black Stripe has been getting harder and harder to get to go into high range, it wants to pop right back out. It's almost to the point that I CAN'T fiddle with it and get it to stay. The lever goes as far as it can in the quadrant but it just won't catch. Everything else is fine. Hope there is an easy solution.
