I'm posting this for a friend of mine. He recently bought his grandfathers M at an auction. It was "stuck in two gears" at the sale. He has taken it apart and found out that the bearing on the main shaft to the transmission is totally gone....He's got it taken apart and has ordered parts, etc. When he took all the "shrapenel" out of the case he found some "needle" bearings...like about a 1/16th of an inch in diameter....where could they have came from???? He doens't want to completely disassemble the rear end-transmission unless he has to, but at the same time, he wants to do it right. Gentlemen, any and all suggestions and advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. The larger roller bearings he found in the bottom of the case....its the little ones that has him (me) wondering where the could have came from?
