Hydraulic dilema

Hey Guys, I have a '51 Super A, runs real good, and as long as I've had it ('bout 3 years) the touch control worked very smoothly. In the last few months it has begun acting strangley. Both levers work real good when you are pulling them towards you (while in the driver's seat), but when pushed away the pump (and now the engine) seam to labor quite a bit, with a good deal of noise (like a whine). It has worsened in the past few months to the point that it really brings the engine down to operate either lever (in only that one direction) with no implements attached. I spent saturday draining, cleaning the screen and refilling the unit with brand new Hy-Tran. The unit got a little bit better, but still dosen't seem as good as it was a year ago. I'm new to hydraulic systems, and am baffled as to where to look next. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance, T.
