I've built several for use on my old cars. There is a supplier here in Kansas City that I get the regulators from. Basically it replaces the internal regulator in the Delco 10-SI alternators. You take the old regulator out, put the new one in and away you go. The regulators cost me anywhere from 15 to 20 bucks, depending on the mood of my supplier at the time. My supplier is Mega-Torque in Kansas City, MO, phone number is 816-231-7032. THESE REGULATORS ARE FOR NEGATIVE GROUND SYSTEMS, SO EVEN THOUGH YOU ARE KEEPING YOUR RIG 6-VOLT, YOU MUST CHANGE IT TO NEGATIVE GROUND IF IT IS CURRENTLY POSITIVE. Don't worry, your starter will still crank the same direction.
