I just found out that my 6 volt battery is an 8 volt battery. The previuos owner had removed all of the decals on the battery top-why -I'll never know. Here is my ? I hooked up the old lights for a minute to see if they still worked, and they did for a minute. But,as I was playing around(switching from dim to bright a few times) the lights just went out. No pop or any noise, just out. I checked the fuse-it's ok. Did I fry the lights as they are 6V not 8V,and with me switching from D to B it was too much?Or is 8V ok for 6V lights and I just need a new light switch (if ones are still available),or a dimmer coil or what? Anybody got any ideas? I have new sealed beam lights I just got for X-Mas,and I don't want to ruin these at $33 a light. The tractor in question is a 54 super H,w/live hydraulics. Thanks, HB
