Howdee, just a bit of info for you on the water in the oil.
I have an H with a cracked block and it did the same thing as yours. you could see the water coming from between the sleeve and the block.

i repaired this block around 1964 with some stuff that was on the market then and then sealed the insideof the block and sleeve with gasket sealer.

at the time in 64 there wasnt to much stuff on the market that was readily available for such a repair. now, there is plenty of stuff for repairs.
i dont know all the names but with all these new polymers and plastics, i would imagine you would have a large choice.

i would try and grind out the crack a bit, if there is one, and fill it with some epoxy and then seal the block with a good grade sealer.
and slide the sleeve in while the sealer is still fresh.

i'm sure anyone at NAPA would be able in helping to make your choice.

i repaired this block almost 40 years ago and it hasnt leaked to this day.
