Distillate tractors have a brass drain valve on the carburetor drain instead of a plug. So you can drain the heavy fuel if you kill it to get gas back into the carburetor. Important if you are hand cranking. Somebody else will follow up, but the distillate tractors had quite a bit less compression and therefor eless power on gasoline. But I believe they had about the same power on distillate because it produces more power than gasoline. That is also why the Farmalls all had two oil level petcocks. If the tractor is run on distillate and is not burning oil, it can "make oil" from condensed fuel so it is recommended to drain oil down to the top petcock before starting to avoid overfill and oil foaming.
