belt pulley restore

I was wandering has anyone ever restored a belt pulley using oak or any other type of hardwood . I know paper was orginally used. I would try to restore the pulley myself if i could find the right of paper. LOOKS SIMPLE after i took the pulley apart. Thanks for any held. Oh by the way this on a farmall H
