If you have a 6 pin on the trailer and a 7 pin on the truck, then I guess you are using an adapter. The adapter is your problem. The guy that put the Gooseneck hitch in my truck told be there are two setups for the 6 pin, so you have to be sure you have the correct adapter. You can fix the problem by opening up the adapter and switching two of the wires. That is what he did for me. I'm not sure which wires, but of course one of them is the brake control wire. I expect if you go to a dealer that installs hitches, they will know the problem and can fix you up with the correct adapter.
