I will guess that you have a hot wire coming back from your truck that is normally use for powering lights in a enclosed trailer. Chances are that you have the trailer brake connected to this. While the truck is not hooked to the trailer, I have found out what wire is what on the trailer plug is by taking a nail and hook it to the positive side of a battery charger and press in each hole one at a time. You will have a left turn, right turn,running lights, trailer brakes, and a ground or 2. I must admitt the last time that i wired a brake controller, I had to tak e it to the pros to adjust. The reason they had the wrong instructions with the controler.
