In fact, it will do the opposite. I believe thru electrolysis (or something like that) it helps to break the bond. Never hook up on one side of a bearing & weld on the other. The rollers will try to stick to the race. Think about it. If you heat up a steel stud in a cast block, especially in a thin area, which will retain heat the longest? I believe the stud does & it will expand due to heat, therefore being tighter in the hole. If you heat the outside area around the stud, you have a better chance of it loosening up. If you do weld a nut to it, wait for the stud to cool.
