those bolts on the drive sheave pull the wedge in to lock the sheave to the shaft. They need to be tight and the sheave should not move around on the shaft. Also, your belt needs to be as tight as you can get it to keep the belt running correctly. Never had a Cub, but used to run a Super A and a 140 with a Woods. You have to keep the belt very tight.
