Amen John!I have converted my working M to 12 volt for covenience because 6 volt batteries are kinda hard to find here and when you can they are pretty expensive.However some of the points made here are well said.But let me make one comment other than what I posted earlier,somebody take a lamp off of thier end table or whatever,move the clothesdryer out of the way and plug up the lamp.Turn it on and see what happens.I rest my case!
