I just purchased a Farmall 230 ('57). I had previously looked at it about month ago. I purposefully hand turned the PTO shaft. It spun easily and did not have any oil coming out around the seal. However, I did not drive it, nor hear it run. Last weekend we concluded the deal after I drove it, etc. Problem: When we put the PTO in gear it acted like it was frozen (literally) as the weather was truely brutally cold around here in VA for the last 3 weeks or so. It would not turn and acted as if it would kill the engine if I let the clutch all the way out (just like it was in 3rd gear with both brakes locked and you let out the clutch). It didn't break loose. Has anyone else ever run into this?? I'm taking delivery this weekend. Andy, the seller was going to keep it in the garage and put a space heater up to the trans. to free it up. HELP!! What say you all??? Shrps74
