Not sure what tractors you have but I am assuming it is a letter series (H or M) or perhaps the early number series (300 or 400). If tractor is in good mechanical shape you should be able to shift right into 5th and take off. You will probably want to ease out on the clutch when you take off or you will kill the engine if you don't have enough rpm's. I would open the throttle up to about 1/3 when taking off. Ounce clutch is out, if tractor is in top notch shape, it should pull itself at near idle on level ground. The H had a top speed of about 15 miles an hour in 5th gear at full throttle. Bigger tractors might be a tad faster.
