Clipper,I don't claim to be an expert on electrical stuff,but as long as you don't have a computer on your tractor you will be able to get buy using 12v to jump 6v as long as you don't leave it hooked up to long.The wire is heavy enough the problem lies in the starter. 12v spins the starter so fast it can damage it.I think the motors on the Meyers snow plows that work the plows are or were 6v,they work fine with a 12v system till they burn out.
