From the mid to late 70s up until maybe 86 or 87,we were very poor.Nicest peice of farma equipment we had was a run down, wore out Farmall M,which I have now and restored.Government agencies wouldnt help, but helped the gentleman in the red Cadillac keep his check coming though.Alot of our clothes were hand-me-downs or at times even as far as a pile of clothes someone threw in the dumpster. Our meals were mostly beans at home and fortunately I was eligiable for free lunch at school.were it not for the kindness of strangers we probably would have lost our farm on morethan one occasion.I know the times were alot better for the country than say in the 40s or 50s or something, but it didnt help us much at all.How did we get out, well my Dad lucked out and got a big promotin at work, but still took us several years to get all debts caught up and things where we wanted to be.
