Desperate, I don't think it your timing, that would make it hard to start and could make it run hot. Does it have power now? I bet it's in the pump yet. Just because you had it rebuilt don't mean they got it right. I have had to take them back before too. It almost has to be in the fuel system somewhere. Are you sure it not sucking air somewhere? Take a can of starting fluid with tractor running and spray around fuel filters,fuel lines, injector pump and see if tractor reaves up. I have a 706 with 282 and neighbor's a 310. The 310 is a real good motor and most the time out last the 282. We both have turbo's on them.
