I am planning on installing a saginaw 3 point hitch on my 1949 M. I was looking at installing a pump off a Super M. If I do not do this and decide to just use the belly pump, I was wondering if there were any disadvantages to using only one port? I am going to install a valve and return into the drain hole of the pump in order to operate the cylinders in both directions. My problem (maybe problem) is that I have discovered that one of my ports on the driver's side (toward the front) has had a plug welded into it. I have learned through research on this site that the other port on this side (toward the rear) is a delayed port. So I am assuming my only option is to use the port on the Passanger side. Will one port put out enough power to handle the two cylinders? When using the valve, was using 2 ports an option anyway? Or is there anyway to incorporate the delayed port? I would appreciate any answers I could get! For I am a 25 year old, with questionable mechanical knowledge, eager to learn how to care for my prize possession which was built about 30 years before I entered this world!
