Propane fuel, can you put gas in the tank and drive off?

I was looking in my tractor books, and I came across a WD-45 that burned LP. Under the picture, it said that you were supposed to be able to pour gasoline in the tank, and it was supposed to be able to run. Is this possible? Just wanted to know in case I came across an IH in the future that ran on LP. Thanks!!
