Dick: You said both 7" bolts, its been 30 years but are there not 4 - 7" bolts. The internal shaft will in no way restrict removal. I used to remove 300 and 560 ptos without draining transmission. Run front end on down grade. I even had a piece of 3/4 plywood cut for covering hole while pto was being rebuilt. Kept right on running tractors on draft work.
