Bob I checked both operators manual and I-T manual and both picture the brake system right up to the side of the tractor and there it stops. I am concerned that if you remove those bolts and try to pull that ring it may be affected by what you can't see inside. If it is clearly a retaining ring you are ok but if it is holding the pinion gear bearing it may only go inward for removal and any attempt to pull on it could cause some serious damage. I'm not sure where you go to find out, your local case I-H dealer could tell you quickly with an expanded view on their microfiche. Good luck Mike in Exeter Ontario
