Farmall W series tractors

All the Farmalls I have known have been the A to M and TD series, with a nodding acquaintance with some of the numbered models. Until a few weeks ago when I began hanging around here I had never heard anything of the "W" series. I have just learned of several W-9s for sale, (in poor condition, natch). This intrigues me. I wonder; Have many of these units been preserved? Are they of historical interest? I have a shed where it might be possible to try restoring one if it were a job which needs doing before they, like so many other objects of our past, have mouldered away. Are the general specifications of the various W models posted somewhere? Any one have any thoughts on this?
