'A' PTO SHAFT SIZE

I might of made a mistake, but I bought a bush hog and plan on running it for a while with my Farmall 'A'. The sales person told me I needed a certain size adapter, but the one I got and tried to put on is the wrong one I need. Any
ideas on the size of my pto shaft and what I will need to make it work. Also, any comments on
'over-running couplers'? I'm sorta thinking on getting on so my 'A' won't get pushed around.
