You say ran good until new manifold. I think that the other post may correct about checking the manifold gasket. Sounds like you have uneven air/fuel mixtures between the inner and outer cylinders. It runs good for a few minutes, until it fouls the middle two. You had also said earlier that the plugs in 1 and 4 look almost too clean, which could indicate that those two are too lean, while the middle two are too rich. I would also carefully inspect the manifold for defects. If you bought a new manifold, it could have a casting flaw that is either causing the gasket to not seal, or creating some restriction. The other thing I would wonder about is the electronic ignition. I know you checked spark, and switched plugs and wires around to check, but you could have a heat related problem in ignition that causes a weak spark to the center two cylinders after engine gets warm. If the engine was not warmed up enough when you did the ignition tests, the problem may not have been evident. Did you install the electronic ignition at the same time as the new manifold? Sounds like you have it narrowed down to a fuel fouling issue. This points to either weak spark on those two cylinders, or incorrect air/fuel mixture in those two cylinders. Either one could cause the engine to seem to run OK when it is cold, and then start to foul as it gets hotter. Keep us posted. We all seem to love the challenge of troubleshooting some of these pesky problems.
