I have a friend who has a 46 Ih baler and a New Holland baler and she likes the 46 better because it packs tighter and makes more uniform bales, but it wasn't working too well two years ago and she bought the New Holland (got a deal on it), it tied quiet well but the bales were ragged on the ends and they weren't all the same length and that made stacking them on the waygon terrible. So it sounds like she's going to get the 46 fixed this year thank God. Other then the knotters needing work it is a good baler.
