If you havent changed ALL the fluid in rear frame yearly as IH op manuals instruct water gets in everywhere through normal condensation from the heating and cooling of the tractor use, it gets warmed up (even hot) during the day from use, then gets cooled down at night, as far as venting I doubt it will cure anything long term, you change all the oil and this flushs out the water. I work at a IH dealer and have since 1960, we had a lot of problems with operators not spending $ to service tractor fluids and would freeze up in winter from too much water inside.
