Ahh, finally maybe I can be of some help. An over run coupler is simply a ratchet like device, that prevents the momentum of the rotary tool (like a boosh hog) from transfering it's energy back through the transmission. In a tractory like my cub, one I get the mower up to speed (without an over run coupler) I cannot stop this tractor. The momentum of the mower is tranmitted back through the transmission keeping the tractor moving when I push the clutch in. (This would be bad). Now I've not yet run through a fence on account of this but I've heard stories. -MD
