The trick for mowing with out the O/R clutch is, as you probably know, to plan ahead. I've mowed plenty with a Super M and 6ft mower, you can't stop on a dime, but if the brakes are good and you haul yourself up on the pedals it's okay. I can get stopped from second gear in about 30ft. less if it's uphill or in real heavy conditions.
