as far as the block goes i have a cub i got running 2yrs ago in the same condition depending how deep the pits are if you have it cleaned up and spinning i would fire it up my head was good but the cylinders were pitted new heads are cheap so i wouldnt worry about that mine looked bad but it has good compresion dosnt smoke or burn oil and runs like a new one the valves arnt even slipping yet which i really cant understand because they were really rusty looking and stuck , and i have worked it hard , paid for it in custom work easily
