You should be in pretty good shape compared to some of us with early 300U tractors. The Wheatland is supposed to have the heavy-duty, fixed axle on the front, compared with the adjustable on the 300U. IH also made the steering knuckles longer after #26457 in the 300U production run; those of us with lower serial numbers have to work harder, and probably are more likely to have steering problems. If you use a bit more care than you might have been before not to overload or stress the loader or steering, and make sure the steering reservoir stays full (generally the second-last thing to get checked, after the air cleaner), you should be OK.
