The last one that I took off (just last week) I had to heat it until the collar was cherry red and had to keep the torch on it all of the time. In addition to the heat I used a 1/2" impact wrench and a 4 lb hammer. This was the hardest one to get off that I have run into.

After a good cleaning and polishing of the shaft and collar it went back on without any problem. I was expecting a harder time of it.
