Fireman: I have used the black pepper a few times. I once had a hole from a flying stone from another vehicle on a gravel road. It left me with a hole in rad size of pencil, yes a 1/4 " hole. I drove to nearest house, guy was in yard, I left truck running and we put garden hose in rad. He got one of those 6" high canisters of black pepper. We poured in pepper as we kept adding water. By the time pepper can was empty leak had stopped. Another item we did was kink heater hose so water couldn't circulate there while adding pepper. I forgot to add this was a new 1978 Chevy pickup and the rad went 8 years and 200,000 miles with nothing but that initial pepper repair.
