Bill - I cannot answer your rod diameter question. However I've removed pushrods on a Super H simply by depressing the valve end of the rocker arm (using an assistant to push on the rocker with a scrap of of wood), then moving the top of rod to the side and pulling out. Reverse the process to install the new pushrod.
