John: As I said earlier I have never had one these pumps apart. In looking at one I would say there should be a gasget, where the two sections go together. I have never had to do repair at the resovoir and valves section either. In watching forums I consider I have been quite lucky. I have always owned at least one of these tractors for the past 40 years, 6 in total, and currently still have 3 of them. Just by law of average I am soon due.

My tractors have all been the offsets SA, 130 and 140, power trains and hydraulics basically the same as yours. One item to remember with these hydraulics is resovoir is very small, and it doesn't take a very large leak to empty it quite quickly. Of course when that pump runs dry is when damage ocurs. That internal leak along shaft and into crankcase, I mentioned before has fooled a lot of people over the years. I monitor my crankcase levels very closely. I assume your Super C has taps for that as oposed to dipstick. Keep engine oil levels just a shade below full, and you will see the addition of hydraulic oil quickly.

Another reason to keep these tractors just a shade below full in crankcase is they are very prone to popping their crank shaft seals if even slightly over full. I just pass these items along for your future reference. With care these little tractors will run forever. Plus everything on them is completely rebuildable and still surprisingly reasonable. I had hoped some of these other guys that have had these pumps apart would come in here and they may well do so yet.

Today's Featured Article - The Cletrac General GG and the BF Avery A - A Bit of History - by Mike Ballash. This article is a summary of what I have gathered up from various sources on the Gletrac General GG and the B. F. Avery model A tractors. I am quite sure that most of it is accurate. The General GG was made by the Cleveland Tractor Company (Cletrac) of Cleveland, Ohio. Originally the company was called the Cleveland Motor Plow Company which began in 1912, then the Cleveland Tractor Company (1917) and finally Cletrac. ... [Read Article]
