IMHO a swinging bar will allow the tractor to
come around easier/faster in a turn with a
dead load on. They are also nice for one guy
hooking up as you can back up so the holes
line up then swing the bar out of the way to get
the vertical parts lined up. I suspect you will
not be doing heavy field work with the M any
more so it is probably not worth the bother to
put on. Of course it must be pinned solid for
PTO work.
