Steel wheel's were an option when H's and M's were released. Rubber tires was the new venture becoming available on new tractors in the mid 30's. Rubber became rationed during WWII. Steel wheel's were probably a common option up through WWII. I believe it would be fair to say that steel wheel's became a non common option after WWII. That gave the hard core farmers enough time to realize that rubber was better, and rubber was no longer rationed after WWII. Not sure when steel wheel's became no longer an option. Some steel wheel's were cut down for rims, making them fewer. I have an H with steel fronts and backs. It's the only one I have seen in person, although I have seen 2 H's with cut downs. I think it is fairly safe to say that the steel wheel's are rare, but not rare to a point that they are worth a supper lot of money. Should be able to buy some for the cost of what you would spend on new tires and factory rubber wheels. Perhaps less. I wouldn't pay much more. Of coarse when comparing the cost here, I am comparing front and back rubber versus steel.
