carb adj

I need help adjusting my carb on my 400. It now idles about 1000RPM. How do I get the idle speed to the usual 475? I have a I&T manual, but the expolded drawing of the carb doesn't show how very well. I have a adjusting screw that is where the governor joins the front of carb, and there is another ajust screw where the carb fastens on to the intake manifold. Which on do I use????? I've checked my throttle linkages and it won't idle down any further.
It also said something about adjusting the main needle jet out 5 turns for heavy pulling, but in the parts drawings there is no main needle jet. Is it the screw on the botttom front of the carb? Please help!!! Thanks a bunch!!!!!!
