Dave, I just converted my 49 M. I just took and turned the original bracket over and use all-thread to go through the bracket and alternator. The alternator will go in front of the bracket. I then used a piece of angle iron for the top adjustment. Drilled some holes and made a slot, had to cut and grind a space to fit around the top of the alternator. A used adjustable bracket from a salvage yard would have worked better. I then bent a piece of strap with a 45 degree on each end to bolt to the all-thread and to the top/back of the alternator to strengthen it.
