Brandon, You may need to give some more info before you can get a good answer to your question. Some alternators are internally regulated, some aren't - some have 2 wire hook ups, some 1 wire, some 3 wire with jumpers, and so on -- and most Farmall generators have two wires, Field and Armature. If you have a Delco alternator, maybe you may be able to short cut the whole Q&A thing by doing a search for a link to BobM's wiring diagrams on this forum. He's done a lot of good work diagramming about every possible conversion system for a lot of Farmalls.
